Europe is roughly the same as the US. Traditional video had very high costs of distribution due to limited time slots of broadcast TV (we only had enough spectrum to support 3-4 channels). The number of channels grew with cable & satellite TV but we still have limitations that makes distributing content high. Not so fast.

The US market is worth more than $25 billion and Europe is the same. dominated by a few very large incumbents who control much of the distribution or are you going into a market that is “fragmented” where nobody controls the industry. So, let’s start with the basics. ” Are you going into an industry (say, music?)

Due to the language and culture issues in Europe we opted for a country structure with an MD in each country and local sales, marketing & customers support staff. But this isn’t restricted to distributed teams, multi-country environments or even large companies. We faced it when we were small. Lived it.
