Sales cycle can often go into something like co-development. 2-18 month sales cycle. Packaged platforms (Force.com/EC2/Azure) are much more likely to succeed than a pure infrastructure play. LYONS: You have to encourage companies to pay attention to these entrepreneurs. KUNZLE: Push us for fast decision. Corporates don’t.

At the time we viewed Amazon’s offering, EC2 as too nascent. During my second startup we never considered using cloud computer processing for our real-time processes but we did run some batch processes there.

Ok-enough of the sales pitch. Think about Amazon’s S3 and EC2 which I have written about before as utility storage and processing for the masses. It is also no wonder that virtualization which helps IT consolidate servers and increase capacity utilization and utility computing are top of mind again.
