I'm a little surprised that CTO Founders with growth capital funding only have 15% of their companies. CTO Founders in India, have a very low equity stake. CTO Founders in UK, US Mid-Atlantic, US Pacific NW, US Northeast, France, Australia have a higher equity stake. Caution - there is not much data for many of the geographies.

After 12 years of hearing startup pitches, my favorite first 5 minutes came from John Katzman, the founder of 2U. He was a repeat founder looking to do something ambitious, but he was months away from launch, raising $5M out of the gate. What does your company actually do? When I kicked off Launchpad LA a year ago I had a few objectives: Create an ecosystem where all Southern California VC’s had the chance to work together more actively outside of the boards on which we mutually sit. We get participation from nearly every major VC firm in Southern California, which was magical.
