We just finished the 8 th annual Lean LaunchPad class at Stanford. So in 2011, with support from the Stanford Technology Ventures Program (the entrepreneurship center in the Stanford Engineering School), we created a new capstone entrepreneurship class – the Lean LaunchPad. It’s the same, but different. Class Velocity/Depth.

Jeff has been promoting the use of Lean UX as an effective method to spur greater innovation, quality and productivity in startups as well as within teams in larger organizations. Lean Startups need to make snap decisions, iterate quickly and pivot when needed. Levels of Agile adoption span the full spectrum across our 6 Scrum teams.

The Lean LaunchPad entrepreneurship curriculum has caught fire. Eric’s insight was that traditional product management and Waterfall development should be replaced by Agile Development. Business model design + customer development + agile development is the process that startups use to search for a business model.

The Lean Startup movement has made tremendous progress in the past year. If you recall, around this time last year we were still fighting various myths , such as “ lean means cheap ” or that we don’t support having a big, world-changing vision. This year, the word pivot has become over-hyped ( even on TechCrunch ).
