The type of disruption most companies and government agencies are facing is a once-in-every-few-centuries event. Ultimately, companies and government agencies need to stop doing this or they will fail. By process I mean all the tools that allow companies and government to scale repeatable execution. The disadvantage is that its methodology was based on the old waterfall model of product development and not the agile and lean methods that startups use today. It taught lean theory ( business model design , customer development and agile engineering) and practice. Customer Development works outside Silicon Valley.

His most recent company, Filtrbox, participated in the inaugural Techstars class (Techstars Boulder 2007) and was a win for all parties involved; Filtrbox was acquired in 2010 by Jive Software (NASDAQ: JIVE). Early customer development talks are going great which keeps the team really excited.

We work in prototypically four-week iterations, with quality engineers and software developers working in close collaboration. This finally bit us after a four month stint of development blew through its testing schedule by a factor of four: two scheduled weeks turned into two months before the product reached stability.
