I think I’ve read Paul Graham’s post on “ Startup = Growth ” three or four times now. Viewing the article through the lens of a venture capitalist there’s much to agree with under the mantra of “growth!” Eventually a successful startup will grow into a big company. Growth, again.

Your team does a good job hustling around to find good teams, but the reality is that your dealflow is more dependent on your network than it is any kind of objective criteria. The interesting thing is that being connected to wealth isn't necessarily a driver of good venture capital performance--why would it be?

One of the reasons I launched FuturePerfect Ventures in 2013 after 20 years in the tech industry was that I strongly believed we needed more women with decision making power on the VC side of the table to find and collaborate with the best entrepreneurs. They decide which VCs receive capital to invest in entrepreneurs.
