Turns out, for whatever reason – cultural, business model, leadership, even bad luck – many incumbents have yet to figure out what to do with software, always on connectivity, and technology. 20 years since Mosaic , if they haven’t figured it out – they probably will never figure it out.

I’m not afraid to pick up the phone, cold call someone, use LinkedIn to find someone who’s recently left a company that might be considered competitive and ask them for advise around the business model and marketplace. Acquisition / Lifetime Value, etc. Now our biz model is lighter, more flexible. So build a strong base.
