Let’s face it, the rules for getting a startup funded at the seed stage aren’t very clear. Note: When I say “seed stage startup,” I’m specifically referring to software/app startups that are eitherpre-product or early product. Venture Capitalist have investors as well. and wonder to themselves, “Why can’t I do that?”

There are 450+ back episodes online, and it’s safe to say that if you listen to it regularly, within a few months you will know more about what makes angel investors tick than do 98% of the rest of the world…including other angels! This will almost always be the best approach to an investor.

If you’re looking for a designer, engineer, or biz marketing guy – go to meetups / conferences that those people would go to. Don’t wait to fill the void before letting him go (but obviously get all the code / usernames / password). I think quick, do something, then review what I’ve learned. I’m studying design.
