Shouldn’t our access to technology and scale lead to lower rates than say Bulgaria? The same companies operate there and here. financial system does not operate as a perfect competition – in fact, it is far from it. If you look at the graph below, U.S. fees can be as much as 4.5X Checking Account Competition.
