I was basically a consultant without the payment and I basically got taken advantage of. If you can't do that convincingly, go get investor money and hire a consultant. But as any programmer will tell you (I’m one), any lucrative contract or full time job you can get, especially these days, will usually leave you so burnt out by the end of the day that the last thing you will want to do is sit down and bang out more code. The above would make sense if one is unable to afford or obtain coders period.
