My example: I have mainly programmed _by choice_ in Python, Ruby, Scala, Haskell, C# and currently I’m doing Java. I am a dev working on.net stuff as well as ruby/c/js/coffeescript and whatnot. I do disagree about two other points: First, this isn't the "quora rockstar engineer" perspective. It's my perspective as well and I'm not a software engineer let alone a rockstar. I am talking about self-appointed 10x egostars, not real solid software engineers.
