2) Check the competition in the TESS gov't database for trademarks/service marks - www.uspto.gov/ebc/tess/index.html ; again are they i same industry or different (do this for taglines too). I'm working with a PR/Communications gurus who is trying to focus me on a name, that when you hear it, it tells people what it is you are doing.
