I''m a strong believer in fairness (although my daughters may not agree) and investors and entrepreneurs working together as a team to create something valuable to all stakeholders (customers, employees, founders, investors). AngelList (which I remain a big fan) also recently launched a syndicate program.
This is going to be BIG.

I would propose that we call these types of investors “syndicate investors”—super useful folks who join with others to help rounds get raised on various crowd investing platforms. Partners, in my mind, should have carried interest (upside) in the fund and be able to lead deals and take board seats.
