Founders seem to take for granted exactly how in demand a good programmer is. Simultaneously, founders tend to take for granted how in demand bad programmers are too. There is a huge demand for programmers in America – good and bad. The old rules of supply and demand should apply in this case, but they don’t.

As someone who asked this question myself at one point, and someone who started one of the many websites specifically to address this issue, please pardon me and allow me to be blunt by translating this into engineer speak. I do disagree about two other points: First, this isn't the "quora rockstar engineer" perspective.

But what I think was hard, and it was something he couldnt consider was that it would be harder to find a *maintaining* programmer, and how much it would cost to run the software, because of technical details he didnt understand. Dont go C or Java, python is good for prototyping and easier to learn. This is great info. Keep it Simple.
