So I initially gravitated to the CTO title, and not VP of Engineering. I feel reminded of one of Jerry Weinberg's laws of consulting: Regardless of what it might look like at first, it's always a people problem. I mean, have you seen other people? They might do anything ! But along the way, something strange happened.

While some investors will be willing to help you build your team, they will not be willing to invest in your startup if you are not willing to distribute responsibility and bring on diversified expertise. Don’t hire people with skills and qualifications similar to yours. Hiring the right people at the right time is key.

Additionally, if you want to hire more engineers, how hard will it be to find people using this language. Need to hire others: This communicates they might not be as good as you want or just can’t hack it and solve the initial problem. You might as well hire an outsourced team.
