It's not a question of me being unwilling to work for equity -- I am. I just have a hard time evaluating competence of business co-founders. I'll need damn good evidence of your competence (e.g. I was basically a consultant without the payment and I basically got taken advantage of. Raising cash is an easy test.

But as any programmer will tell you (I’m one), any lucrative contract or full time job you can get, especially these days, will usually leave you so burnt out by the end of the day that the last thing you will want to do is sit down and bang out more code. Sometimes non-programmers arent very good at anticipating where there might be problems, so it makes sense to give a very high-level overview of what you expect to happen after the first milestone, and the programmer will know if any follow-up is necessary. I also know someone else who consulted me about his website idea. THANK YOU!!!
