First of all, it means that most aggregate measures of success, like total revenue, are not very useful. Then we could focus on standardizing a product that could have an automated sales cycle online. (Steve calls this just Customer Validation , but I like to emphasize the learning aspect, so I accept a far more awkward phrase.)
