In my case, I grew up in Connecticut and spent a fair amount of time in New York – all the while trying to start companies, relatively unsuccessfully. Keep salaries smaller, smaller smaller. Height has a pretty tight, normal distribution. Keep salaries smaller, smaller smaller. The ecosystem is just hard to beat.
