The group is about 22 people; managing directors, partners and COO’s of major investments firms in Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, and Tunisia. Promising start-ups exist in the region but the lack of a robust ecosystem for IT companies is a challenge, as is the lack of a link with US market. There is a need to bring the major US players to invest and/or partner with local companies; this is the only way to develop this sector and make it more visible to the US market. .

Who are we? And where do we come from? (2011 edition)

By May of 2010 they came from 219 countries and spoke 199 languages; according to Google Analytics, there are only 5 countries from which we have not had a single visit: Chad, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Guinea, and The Central African Republic. But, not to worry – as I write this, our marketing geniuses are actively targeting those 5 nations and we expect to welcome them to our community in 2011!
