To address this issue, space-based internet startup Astranis has partnered with satellite services provider Orbits Corp to launch and operate a dedicated satellite for the Philippines. The microGEO satellites, operating at geosynchronous orbit approximately 22,000 miles above the Earth’s surface , offer distinct advantages.
