Generally speaking, healthy boards have exposure to the rest of the management team as well, but interact in ways that do not undermine the CEO. For example, in 1997, I had not realized that you need to invent and reinvent your go to market strategy together with your product idea. That experience was helpful; my theory wasn’t wrong.
