On Tuesday of this week, we kicked off a pair of EC2 instances and a pair of our i7 workstations to produce updated data. We dive right in with the EC2 JSON test results, but please read to the end where we include important notes about what has changed since last week. First up is data from the EC2 m1.large large instances.

Social networking is governed by SEC 17a4, and SEC hasn’t opined on this. Packaged platforms (Force.com/EC2/Azure) are much more likely to succeed than a pure infrastructure play. BROWN: Impersonation on social networks is a big problem. Ask the senator who was on TV. The water has already come over the damn.

We picked a write oriented benchmark using the standard Cassandra "stress" tool that is part of the product, and Denis ran and analyzed the tests on Amazon EC2 instances. The time taken by EC2 to create 288 new instances was about 15 minutes out of our total of 66 minutes. All instances are created using the EC2 auto-scaler feature.
