Steve Blank: When I first starting teaching, the capstone entrepreneurship class was how to write a business plan. But years ago, we had no alternative – how to write a business plan was it. For example, when I teach this for the government, our focus is on innovation that gets deployed and fielded, not demos.

The very cool thing about the program, and then some of the other business planning classes that we took afterwards, was we were really encouraged, I think, to look at the need and talk to the people who are experiencing that need most sort of dramatically out in the real world. We want to see new sources of funding for family meals.
