Kicking Saddam's ass out of Kuwait made us feel good and patriotic. My family's name isn't on any buildings and they didn't have the money to fund my investments, so I felt like I didn't have help to break into my industry. That, too, is a product of being in NYC. And, of course, it was cool having a strong military.
