Personally, I believe that the Semantic Web will become mainstream in the next few years (I actually have a bet on this with some college friends). After reading the wonderful blogpost on the BBC’s dynamic semantic publishing system , it reminded me that the Semantic Web has two audiences: the common web user (my mom) and developers.

Potential partnerships with media and telecom giants make it attractive enough though, and hopefully there will be cross polination between the Israeli startups and the great tech cluster in London. Of course we know that this is already happening as web services are now driving significant portions of the Internet and people are driving toward a future Semantic Web. This isnt trivial - believing in the projections and selling your passion and networking to find investors are all really hard. I cant keep count of the number of people who I talk to on a daily basis online or in person, at networking events, etc. social network/web analysis/etc. This is utter bullshit. This is utter bullshit."
