Instead of emailing notes, I put pen to paper, because I knew that despite all of our new communication tools, including email, social, and yes, even text messages, nothing beats the impact of a handwritten note. Handwritten notes are dying. Nobody has the time to buy a card, write it out, and mail it.

Men are more responsive to email than face-to-face talk. Guadagno & Cialdini research (2002) showed that men seem more responsive to email because it bypasses their competitive tendencies. When you want to persuade a man you don’t know too well, start with an email. But, this only applies to distant relationships.
