I’m writing this on my way back from Australia. We met with some of the gang at AirTree VC and learned quite a bit about some of the challenges and opportunities of investing in Australia from them.

My favorite example of this was the “ tall poppy syndrome ” that exists in Australia, a long-standing cultural attitude of fostering hostility toward successful people.
