Distribution revenue is CPC and CPA. . Historically more revenue came from distribution/lead-gen (57% in 2007), but this tipped in 2008 though appears to be steady from 2009 to 2010 at about 58% advertising and 42% distribution. Kayak generates both distribution (i.e. round closed Feb 2005. Series B Preferred.

To put that timeframe in perspective, here’s a picture of analyst me taken at USV’s first office in 2005, dressed in khakis and a button-down shirt versus a picture of me, a GP at my own firm, over 100 deals later, now on my latest Zoom board call from my couch at home with my junior analyst of about a year and a half.

Six months after first starting this blog in 2005 I came across another form of online communication called a “Podcast&#. Initially, like blogging, I had no idea what this term meant, but with some quick research I learned that podcasts and podcasting are all about creating audio files and syndicating them online via things like RSS.
