When I met my now-wife, I realized that any technology that can find me a spouse is a killer app. But, most of use raise capital and source deals the same way people looked for dates 20 years ago: by networking at conferences (or bars). . Lehman Brothers had filed for bankruptcy. Let’s review all of our existing investments. Not just tech companies but industrials, too. I’ll bet many of them did a review of their “investment pace&# as in – how quickly should we be investing. And don’t think tech will remain immune.

I get approached about clean tech or biotech periodically – I don’t focus on these. In ad tech there’s Seth Levine at Foundry Group and both Dana Settle & Ian Sigelow at Greycroft. But they were never going to be convinced anyways once they did due diligence and realized we’re not a SV-focused fund.

Most email programs now have preview panes that typically block images and scripts (Outlook, Thunderbird, Gmail, everyone), and default settings prevent data collection due to concerns about viruses. Allow me to rush and point out that this metric is usually just directionally accurate. That is okay. How much do you stink?
