A CEO brought in from a large company came with all the big company accoutrements – org charts, HR departments with formal processes and procedure handbooks, formal waterfall engineering methodology, sales compensation plans, etc. Replacing the founder when the company needed to scale was almost standard operating procedure.

And we think its better if startups operate out of their ownpremises, however crappy, than the offices of their investors. Theres only common stock at this stage.
