. Many people don’t realize that the majority of the monetization of the Internet originated in Los Angeles but was perfected in Silicon Valley. We don’t seem to get credit as a community for SpaceX or recognition as one of the fastest growing communities for commerce: Honest Company & JustFab.

I remember writing a blog post in 2008, post-financial crash, on how the recession was going to re-vitalize the city’s tech startup community, which would eventually help diversify the NYC economy. Startups are not immune to globalization and can accelerate growth if thinking globally from launch.

Create a strong brand, solid social community, sell advertising. I’ve been reaching out to such users in the startup community and have gotten very positive feedback so far. I have 2 options: set up a new startup or share my idea with google (or maybe another big silicon valley’s company). Google won’t care.

At their heart, seed accelerators are defined length programs (usually 3 months) where early stage startups are provided seed capital, mentorship, co-working space (though not always) and other services in the hope of removing the barriers to startup success… or failure.
