Over the years Dino and I brainstormed about how Lean entrepreneurship would affect regional development. Entrepreneurs need to understand and believe the reasons why they should want to cluster in your region given there are other alternatives (nationally Silicon Valley or New York; regionally Seattle and Bellevue, Portland and Bend).

We’re huge fans of the lean startup methodology here at Palo Alto Software, so The Lean Startup is definitely a good place to start, as is The Art of the Start. Pick up some beans from your local roaster (is my Portland showing yet?) For entrepreneurs who want to learn more. A great book (or several) on entrepreneurship.

One of the most important things we do with The Lean Startup Conference is make a livestream of the plenary talks available for free to groups around the world, supporting entrepreneurship communities everywhere. Past livestream attendees have reported great conversations and networking. They represent more than 10,000 people total.
