Their business model was to help young companies accelerate their launch by helping assemble a team, do initial marketing, provide seed capital and help them raise financing. The photo in this blog (like many of mine) came from 500px. They have raised now a total of $22 million. He has paid me in spades.

It’s a world that doesn’t fit our seed-focused model and fund strategy. Outside of life-sciences, we’ve noticed something interesting emerging: There is a huge dearth of seed capital for health care services and software-driven health-tech companies.

While in law school, my partner, Leigh, and I had a concept for a law firm that did more than just “law.” We both have experience in business and thinking outside the box. I can be found on LinkedIn , have a blog Holocognics and my firm’s website is www.SolutionsLLP.com. A few years ago “venture capital” was a revenue model.

The angel then introduces the entrepreneur to his or her wealthy friends and business connections who, based on the good reputation of the referring angel, also invest. There is considerable internal debate around whether or not to solicit and/or accept outside venture capital. For most companies, it is simply a non-starter.

It’s also a great way to get inspiration for blogging. What is the best advice you can give for finding a business partner? Don’t quickly choose any business partner. No funding and you are trying to get exposure, you have exhausted Twitter, Facebook and a blog. Why do I do it? Do something together.
