This year we went to Rancho Valencia – a tennis resort near San Diego. If you play tennis almost every day for five weeks you get a lot better. I’m back from what was an amazing sabbatical. Last year Amy and I went to Bora Bora. In addition to turning 50, I had an incredible mental, emotional, and physical reset. Two years ago, Seth, Jason, Ryan, and I decided that we would each take a month off the grid each year.

I ran into the guys from Barnana at an event in San Diego a few months ago. I can’t make angel investments in tech companies anymore because of my Foundry Group fund agreements. I figure if things don’t work out at least I can eat some of the inventory.
