Since then, in about 3 months, we’ve fed over 170,000 people and injected over $1mm into the local economy in San Francisco and Detroit. After all, in order for this all to work it would require the generous donations of philanthropists and (ideally) the support of government programs down the line.

There was a computer training lab run by a company called Prosoft, but that's like having an Apex Tech and expecting to be the next Detroit. Government and academic professionals also seek them out to get connected to the startup ecosystem. It's not quite the same when you're putting government money to work supporting new companies.

We assume it will be a 2-3 day discussion, but may be much longer, because of the CR (Continuing Resolution) to fund the government overall. Dickinson: If government shuts down, only political appointees can work. Kappos: Over time we’re going to have to reoptimize to use the new Detroit office. What’s the update?
