The business models within the social media realm are much different than traditional businesses. In social networking, they’re ever-changing, backed by eye-opening revenue and have very little documentation. The middle man is called an ad network. The game developers. Who’s profiting from this?

The movie, “The Social Network” might have had more of an impact on creating future entrepreneurs than any other event of the past 5 years. So of course returns from 2000-2010 were subpar on average for the industry. By 2010-2011 this had shrunk by half again, averaging under $15 billion. Thank you, Aaron Sorkin!

A bout 50,000 visitors from 200 countries are expected to attend the 2010 GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week, starting tomorrow February 15th. 4G/ LTE (Long Term Evolution) -the fourth generation of networks, enabling faster downloading in 4G phones (100 megabit per second compared to today’s 21 megabit/sec in 3G phones).

Buddy Media was an amazing exit, but I never really thought of it like “enterprise software” I thought about it more like an agency that had developed off the shelf social tools around its service solutions. When I looked at the site, it had the term “Social Enterprise Software” written all over it.
