Capital Innovators put on the event, called Demo Day, at the cherished Pageant Theater, which normally is a concert venue. Each presenter had small demo booths where investors could ask questions about the venture and see the software in operation. The second event was the annual Invest Midwest conference on Thursday.

Other signs of engagement are: they ask you to meet with portfolio companies (they want feedback on your product and you), they ask you to meet a colleague, they set up a call to go through a product demo / financial walk-through, they ask to speak with customers, etc. Most entrepreneurs don’t put enough effort into these phases.
