The technology shifts you need to focus on in 2018

Start Up Blog

I’ve always believed the technology shifts we ought focus on shouldn’t be the abrupt, but changes in the tide of consumer behaviour and the economy. The reasons shifts are more important than definitive events is that we have time to react to them, build around the movement and benefit from the change. Disruptive events are. No way for me to go back and figure out what I read last year (I give away most books once I’ve completed them) so instead will make this a living post, where I add as I finish. If we generously start 2018 on 12/26/2017, here’s what I’ve read so far in reverse-chron order: 4) Finding Flow – Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi [non-fiction].

The Capital Factory body

Austin Startup

Capital Factory does a lot of different things to support entrepreneurs. I think of it like a body or ecosystem with different parts that all work together and are interdependent. The physical coworking space is the bones and body. It is our home. It gives a sense of place and a “where” for everything else to happen. The 1,000 meetups and events we host every year are the heartbeat.

The Past, Present, and The Future

Feld Thoughts

The past is ungraspable, the present is ungraspable, the future is ungraspable. – Diamond Sutra. Now that it’s 2018, the inevitable predictions for 2018 are upon us. I’m not a predictor.
