What will be tougher in this environment will be pre-seeds and seed-extension/second seeds where F ear O f L ooking D umb is the highest. Pre-seeds will be tougher as investors gravitate more towards proven founders or folks within their existing networks.

Board members have a fiduciary duty to look out for the interests of all shareholders specifically (and employees and other stakeholders generally). Members will have different expertise, relationship networks, and personalities. In the end, seed capital can help a startup get the best possible start in many cases.

With the atomization of seed and an increasing number of rounds prior to Series A (pre-seed, seed, super-seed, etc.), Especially in the Bay Area, but in all major tech hubs, it’s extremely challenging to recruit new employees onto the team. there often isn’t one seminal round to announce. Always be fundraising.
