Thailand, Indonesia, Korea, and Vietnam each have a couple of very good VC firms. They want to see cash flow quickly (you cannot wait 2-3 years before determining your revenue model, like in Silicon Valley), so make sure you’re ready for this next step and have a solid plan in place on how to accomplish it.

A company cannot hire out of a hub city like Singapore and expect those individuals to cover Indonesia, India, Thailand, and the Philippines. Also, there is no need to open a legal corporate entity until the company has sizable revenue and employees on the ground. Hire the right people – local and entrepreneurial. Keep it simple.

I set up my business to be distributed, so although my company is based out of Scottsdale, Arizona, I live in Thailand most of the time. It’s opened my life up to new possibilities, from an elephant sanctuary to a life partner – and, I still regularly travel outside Thailand. 29- Making as much money.

The only reason my kids know Evian or Volvo Trucks or TrueMove (Thailand), among many other brands, is because of their work on YouTube. So, lots of content combined with an engaged audience (contributing and participating in consumption), driving great branding and real world revenue. When I have a choice, I now buy Prudential.
