Some Thoughts on Branding Startups and Communities

The birthplace of sponsored search (Overture), semantic search (Applied Semantics which became Google AdSense), comparison shopping (ShopZilla, PriceGrabber) and many others. Interestingly, nobody I know in NorCal EVER calls it Silicon Valley, “Silicon Valley.”
