The industry finally has one of their own at the helm of the largest YouTube network. My estimate is that the top 5 YouTube networks will do > $200 million net revenue in 2013 (after Google’s share). The media world now has its own leader running the largest YouTube multi-channel network startup.

Mitu Network is the largest digital media company for Latinos in the US and also targeting Mexico and South America. This is the cycle of synergies that lead to strong vertical franchises in media. The Food Network. Of course there are many great verticals including: Auto, food, music, animation, shopping. ESPN in sports.

I attended the inaugural Open Angel Forum in Los Angeles back in January and wrote about it here. Jason Calacanis started this initiative in response to the pay-to-play network of angel events that he despised. The first event was a big success and brought out many of LA’s angel elite.

Yesterday MiTú Networks announced that Upfront Ventures led a $10 million financing in what is now the largest producer of Latino online videos – primarily driven through YouTube.
