China, Russia, Brazil, India, Indonesia all meet those criteria. The biggest mistake for most of these startups was not understanding that optimizing their business model for the 24 million people in the Australian market would not prepare them for the size and scale they needed to get to big. In developing countries, like China and India, the statistics are reversed. Thus most startups I know don’t even mention the IPO exit option, when applying for Angel funding, and most Angel investors will react negatively if you do mention it.

You won’t impress investors by claiming that everyone in China needs one, and nobody else has exactly the right features to compete with you. Explain the business model. Show how your rate of return would be attractive to investors. In preparing it, try to look at your project through the investors eyes.
