If you aren’t familiar with these metrics, I recommend reading the original post to get a sense of the numbers that I’ll be reviewing here. For example, a $10B endowment might be looking to have 10% ($1B) allocated to venture capital at any one time. That 10% might start to look more like 12% or 15%.

I know that most people who are close to them tend to deny their existence, as we saw in the great housing bubble of 2002-2007 and the dot com bubble of 1997-2000.
