But what has also happened over the last 10 years is the massive expansion of the series A and lifecycle fund market. The third factor is probably the biggest, which is that we’ve been in a very fortunate market environment.

Being tenacious without the mental flexibility to pivot based on market feedback is a disaster. He and his partner told me about this new idea over the course of nearly a year. Partners in VC funds only wanted to fund entrepreneurs who had a certain percentage of their net worth tied up in their venture. That’s hard core.

One of my students just asked me what a “Venture Partner” is in the context of a venture capital firm. I quickly typed in “venture partner” into the Wikipedia query box. So, then I typed “venture partner definition” into the Google search box. It carries cache. No results.
