This was 2004, and we had never even heard of MySpace, let alone had any understanding of social networking. It required hearing customers say it over and over again for us to take a serious look, and eventually to realize that social networking was core to our business.

Facebook is a social network, built from the ground up for that purpose, by a company that does nothing else. It’s much like a bookmarking tool with social sharing in your network added. My view is that no one thing can slow Facebook, they’ve simply grown too large and too important for too many people.
