I recently spoke at the Founder Showcase at the request of Adeo Ressi. I said that at the Founder Showcase, too. And for many of these they were (over) funded 7-10 years ago and don’t necessarily all represent great returns for investors or founders. some founders lose their life savings.

But did you know that founder Markus Frind has just 3 employees for his $10MM+ revenue business? When you outsource…at least in the early days…it matters little wheter you pick a local bank or a global one. PR/Marketing. For startups, PR firms are a waste of money. He basically outsources everything.

For starters let me use “CEO” as a proxy to include her “inner circle” which might mean co-founders or might just mean senior execs of the business. The Mind of the Founder. We funded one in 2005 and lost a lot of money. A $1 trillion global market. The startup CEO was not the original founder.
