In January of 2008, I came across a website that taught about the freebie industry. I’m not going to get into too much detail here about how that industry works, but it’s based on an affiliate marketing model, where you get free stuff (or money) for trying out offers and referring others to do the same.

You can make money with your blog by placing advertisements on it, by selling products as an affiliate where you earn a commission for each sale you refer, or by selling products and services of your own. Go to a site like Clickbank and find a product you can write about and promote as an affiliate.

To find that buyer, I pretty much contacted the people who were within my sphere of influence within the community of Magic – players, card store owners, people who traded cards. It’s just a forum, that’s all this is, a community forum with lots of people sharing an interest. The new owner redesigned it. I love that.
