Eventually, Reddit became wildly popular and was bought by Condé Nast, the owner of 20 other brands and media like Vanity Fair, Vogue, and The New Yorker. Rather, effective marketing begins with deep customer insights that translate into a great brand idea that is media-agnostic. I love how it cuts through the fluff of “go digital or die” marketing while proposing a measured way to weave brand marketing into both mass and new media channels. The best engagement ideas are media neutral.

Michael Smith, leader of the Social Innovation team at the Case Foundation , introduced the Foundation as a non-profit started in 1997 by Steve Case (AOL co-founder) and his wife, Jean Case. Case Foundation didn’t have a website until 2005, although founded 1997. We wanted to educated nonprofits about the importance of social media.
