Blood In The Streets

Feld Thoughts

I was on vacation for a week in Slovenia celebrating my partner Seth’s 40th birthday. The rides in Slovenia were awesome. Remember – this is a tiny little town in Slovenia (Kobarid). Personal Cycling Kobarid Slovenia StravaIt’s never is ok to have a brain fog slowly lift and realize you are bleeding all over yourself. It’s a calm moment when you are in that state where it takes another five seconds to realize what just happened.

Some of the countries with faster internet include Kenya, Lithuania, Slovenia, Moldova and many developing economies. We don’t really have the internet in Australia. I mean, sure we are connected to it, but we aren’t even in the top 50 countries for internet speeds.

Recalibrating For The Summer

Feld Thoughts

The fall started with a bike accident in Slovenia and ended with surgery to remove an 8mm kidney stone. Even though I haven’t been in school for a long time, I still have some tenuous link to the idea of summer vacation. Well, not some much vacation, but a mode shift from going to class every day to doing other stuff, such as playing tennis at least eight hours a day (age 10 – 14) or writing software products (age 17 – 21).

Detroit Free Press Marathon

Feld Thoughts

I haven’t run much at all since my bike accident in Slovenia in early September and my ribs and left elbow still hurt a little. Marathon #23 is complete. On Sunday, I finished the Detroit Marathon in 4:41:39. The two smiling faces next to me in the picture are Matt Shobe, who I’ve now done three marathons with, and my running coach Gary Ditsch. They ran with me in Detroit and it was super helpful to have them.

The Power of a Deadline

Feld Thoughts

When I got back from “summer” – which was my return to New York from my bike trip to Slovenia – Amy and I had 15,000 words written for Startup Life. If you’ve ever shipped anything, you understand the power of a deadline.

Resetting My Priorities

Feld Thoughts

It started with a bike crash in Slovenia, followed by a few weeks in New York where I physically felt awful. If you’ve been following along at home, you know I’ve had a tough fall. Fortunately I was with Amy for her birthday (we celebrate her birthday for most of September), but I underestimated how long it would take me to recover.
